Ever find yourself here... that is between a rock and a hard place? At some point all of us will find ourselves in a challenging set of circumstances asking the proverbial question "why me... why is this happening to me?"
Honestly, I can't always answer that question. But there are three things that I have learned are a guarantee... even in the most trying of times. The first: no matter how big of a challenge we are going through, God will turn it for the good for those who love Him (Rom. 8:28). The second: we will have the chance to encourage and strengthen someone else at some point in our life who has experienced the same challenges. Finally: those times of challenge reveal who we really are and "who" and "what" we will allow them to turn us into.
The question isn't whether or not I will go through challenging times in my life. The question is how will I go through it, who will I become in the process, and will I invite God into my circumstances and watch first hand that He always keeps His word.
1 Pet. 1:6-7 In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.
Several years ago, the Lord instructed me that I would go through a trial and here is what I was to do. I did not want to hear that. I whined around to God and told Him I didn't want to go through the trial. He told me that I was already in the trial. Actually, I was in a mind field in the midst of the trial, now did I still not want his instructions? I quickly shut up and he told me where to step. God is good!

There are times when everything around you is falling apart. Things can't seem to get any worse... then they do. That is when I have two choices feed into the fear of uncertainty or stand on the promises of God. During these times can be the loneliest and scariest. I also realize that I am not alone, but I have to choose what to put my trust in, fear or God and He will always prevail.

I'm in the middle of being between a rock and a hard place right now and it has been very challenging on many different levels.
Once I get all the way through it, I look forward to having another situation in my life to give God the glory for and to be able to point back and say "God brought me through that, He is more than able to bring me through the next challenge in my life."
I also will be able to tell others of His goodness, mercy and faithfulness in and through it all.
