This month a few hundred of our church members, and their families, are participating in a 21-day fast.
This is the 3rd year in a row where we, as a church, collectively fast something natural to achieve the supernatural.
As we fast we are also praying and believing for 3 things:
- Wisdom and direction.
- A nation's heart to turn to God.
- For the lost and exiled to return to God.
For this year's fast I've prayerfully decided to give up Twitter and Facebook for 21 days. "Why those?" Well, I'm glad you asked. Twitter has been a part of my daily routine for a while now...I use it often and check it "oftener"! This gives me a great opportunity to be reminded on a very consistent basis to pray whenever I feel the urge to Twitter or just check Twitter. Facebook also plays a slightly vital role with how I keep in touch with my family and friends across the US and beyond. So now, everytime I feel the need to check Facebook I am once again reminded to pray.
To all my Twitter and Facebook friends and family...I'll see you all soon. I do ask that when you're reminded of me - Iman - or my family, please say a prayer for wisdom and direction, for a nation's heart to turn to God and for the lost and the exiled to return to God.
Peace and God bless.
