Winter weather has descended upon us like a Zamboni on a hockey rink during half-time. So, in typical Oklahoma fashion, people stormed wally world for milk, water and bread...like it's the end of the world......again......like it was this past winter......and the winter before that.
Another amazing phenomenon that transpires: For some reason there's a collective "smart switch" that gets turned off when it comes to driving!
As a conscientious citizen of this fine city and state I humbly submit a few driving "tips"..."lessons" if you will, to the masses that have chosen to place the "smart switch" in the off position.
Oklahoma winter driving lesson #1: there IS a difference between snow and ice...please take time to figure this one out.
Oklahoma winter driving lesson #2: having a 4WD/4x4/SUV/TRUCK does NOT exempt you from slowing down, sliding, slippage or Newton's 1st Law of Motion!
Oklahoma winter driving lesson #3: speeding on ice will NOT get you to your destination faster BUT it'll definitely get you to an accident quicker!...slow it down.
Oklahoma winter driving lesson #4: if you hit a patch of ice QUIT gunning the gas and/or DON'T slam on the brakes!
Oklahoma winter driving lesson #5: get off your friggin' cell phone if you're driving!!!
